I'm broken
They* say that it takes 28 days to break a habit.
Today marks the 28th day with no coke (I use coke to mean all forms of soda or pop, Whatever you call it, I call it coke) for me. For the most part I only drink water now days, though every once in awhile I'll have a lemonade or a cherry limeade.
The first 4 days were BRUTAL, I had headaches that made me want to give in so badly I could hardly stand it. Lucky for me Natalie and Nate were here to distract me on those days.
About two weeks in I was craving a coke an actual LARGE real COKE with yummy SONIC ICE, I was alone and thought about Sonic, that when I had my first lemonade. And it was wonderful, but not a coke.
I am mostly okay with it now, even though yesterday driving home from Norman I so wanted to go and push the shiny red button at Sonic and order a Dr.Pepper. But, I didn't!
Wednesday marks 30 days and will be a 1o1 achievement (I promise to update soon, I really have been keeping track or real paper). And I said that I will celebrate Thursday with a GIANT ROUTE 44 COKE with easy ice from SONIC (be still my heart). But, in all reality I think that I am going to stick to my guns and not get readdicted to caffeine.
I am not saying that coke is horrible, but I think all things should be done in moderation, and for now while I start (talking about) running I think it is best that I drink as much water as possible and as little coke as possible.
I'll be sure to let you know when I indulge in the pure wonderful bliss of a Styrofoam cup with the perfect little pieces of ice and fountain coke again!
*I'm entirely sure who "they" are but they sure do have lots of opinions on lots of things and most people seem to take most of what they say to heart!

The Best
There are not many things I claim to be the best at. I know I'm not the best daughter, friend, niece, granddaughter, or sister. I know I'm not the best driver, swimmer, trivia-knower, dresser, blogger, baker, or picture taker. I might be the worst speller, package sender, and messiest eater in the entire universe.
But, I believe that I am hands down the best cousin.
Last night two of my favorite (they're all my favorite) smallest cousins came to spend the night. Sadly, I had to work so our time was short. But, full of so much fun! We played blocks and cars and with barbie laptops, we baked cupcakes and got guns for a water fight.
And when it was time for bed and the sweetest little three year old face asked me if I would "pwease sweep on a pallet on the floor with them". I just couldn't say no. I mean I thought about it. I even offered to let both small cousins sleep in my bed with me. But, he really wanted a pallet....so I said yes. And the most heartfelt happy YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY that followed made the tossing and turning and terrible sleep I got last night worth every second of it.

I realize this is not the best picture of any of us. But, deal with it!

slump
I haven't really been feeling like myself lately, which has led to my lack of blogging. Sad, I know. I have so many unwritten posts in my drafts and in my head I just really haven't felt much like typing them out. I feel blah, sad even. oh well. I'm still here. Here are some pictures to make up for the lack of blogging.
It's no fun to watch tv like this...
Terror.
Please give me Kuddles as a treat!

rodeo!
Here are our picture of the rodeo, it was more fun than I thought it would be. It wasn't a "real" rodeo meaning there weren't acts in between the competitions, no clowns or bulls or anything. It was real cowboys from real ranches trying to win a contest, not professional rodeoers. So, come to Oklahoma and I'll take you to the Rodeo!
the beginning, lots of patriotic stuff happens at the beginning of a rodeo
tying up a calf
Real Cowboys!
Maybe it's because I love football but there is something about their hats falling off...
Trying not to get bucked
holding on
the whole team!
watch out wild cow, you're about to get milked!
catch that cow!
I loved that it took two people to hold on to the cows tail! ha!
There were 14 teams competing in 3 events, trying to stay on the bucking horse the longest, roping a calf that was in a herd, and wild cow milking.

adventure!
Natalie and her BFF Nate came into town and we had a blast! Here are some pictures on our way to one of our first adventures!
In the car
He's just too cute!
All squished in the back seat!
The GPS lead us to the wrong place...apparently this is a frequent problem because we were greeted with this sign....

tick tock
Just in case my biological clock wasn't ticking loud enough I had this conversation with my favorite 6 year old this past weekend.
At least she didn't guilt trip me about how she has never been a flower girl...this time....
O-Ashlee, are you a mommy yet?
A-Nope not yet.
O-But you look like a mommy.
A-well I'm not
O-(very exasperated) Do you think you'll be a mommy by the time your 30 at least?
A-I don't know, we'll have to wait and see.
