walmart, fleece, and new bffs?

So, some of my friends Christie thinks I need to find some new friends and not to talk to any of the boys that are currently a part of my life. I always hear her voice in the back of my head (you know like a conscience). I was grocery shopping at Walmart last weekend when this cute boy caught my eye, we were in the produce section I really just looked several rows into the grocery store we kept running into each other, like literally. I couldn't help but notice that we were dressed alike (read jeans and grey fleece nothing crazy people). What I didn't notice was his wedding ring (dang it) not like I was going to talk to him...but still! About halfway through the aisles up walks his cute wife (hope she didn't see me batting my eyes at him). So, no big deal obviously it isn't in the cards for me to drop those I currently hang out with. I didn't even think the story was worth repeating, surely not blog worthy...

that is until last night when I went to a meeting and who would be walking in before me? It was cute wife...what? This city is HUGE what are the chances we are in the same place at the same time?! No, big deal she doesn't know who I am. (she did keep looking at me weird). If that weren't weird enough do you know that when I went to Walmart this afternoon she was there AGAIN?! Obviously I need to be bff with this girl and not her husband (I've seen her 3 times in less that a week!) weird.

Hope that kept you entertained...sorry I forgot about Wordless Wednesday this week. I really didn't remember until yesterday when one of my other blog reads put hers up late...suck.

tomorrow, I'll be in my MECA at a wedding show with Abbi! So, excited!

no id, no movie.

So, last night I went to the movies with my friend. I had on no makeup and my hair was in a pony tail. I didn't look bad, but I wasn't trying to impress anyone either. So, we picked a movie and he went to buy the tickets. I was basking in the heaters they have (it made me feel like I was in Florida.) I walked up and the ticket man said "I don't think they'll let you in without your ID." It was the really strict guy that always makes us show both of our student ids to get the discount. So, I just kind of stared blankly at him, really? It's been several years since I was IDed for an R rated movie. He said yesterday they weren't letting people that were too young in to see it. WHAT? I couldn't even form a complete thought. Do I look like I'm 16 years old? Do I? Friend was like come on, it's okay, no big deal. But, of course I didn't have my driver's license because I move it for football games and forgot to put it back where it belongs. He said come on let's go in and see what happens. So, we walk up to the ticket-taker lady and I said, I don't have my ID I want to see Saw and I'm almost 26 years old. She said "no way" "I really am". I said he has his ID and actually I'm 9 days older than him, meanwhile he is reciting our date of births to the nice lady. She said I have to see this I don't believe it. Friend handed over his ID and she studied it, like people do when I buy alcohol and they think it for sure must be fake. Next step call people over and say how old do you think they are, oh how I love that game. I win every time. Of course the best comment was "well I can see it with him but for her no way" People to not get into an R rated movie I'd have to be 16, don't we think there is a bigger problem than trying to see this movie if I'm at the movies with some 26 year old guy? Then comes the you're so luckys, someday I'm sure it will make me feel lucky. They did let us both in the movie.

Also, said friend ripped his pants and was trying to hide it. I had to go to the car and get him different ones, so I was walking around with pants (not showing my ticket stub because everyone knows me now.) and he lost his phone the night before at the movies and we were searching the theater for that. We were at the movie over an hour early and were sitting talking in the lobby (that's normal for us, we don't check movie times, we just show up and see whatever fits) Needless to say after last nights adventures I think we might have to find another theater....

Judys

Most small children have a comfort item of some kind or another a bear, a blankie, a chewie, a something. Mine was a dog, a rather large dog. Her name was Judy (at the time I got her we had a real dog named Judy). I loved my stuffed Judy and took her every where with me. Every summer I flew from Florida to Oklahoma (usually alone), and most summers my mom would tell me Judy is too big you can't take her. If you want to take something smaller you can but Judy's just too big. Every summer I would take my backpack that was supposed to be filled with things to entertain a small child traveling half-way across the country, and fold and squish my Judy in there. She always fit. Sometimes I would take her out on the airplane, sometimes I'd wait until I was safely in Oklahoma but I always took her. I couldn't sleep without her.

Eventually I stopped taking Judy every where I went.

The first time I was going to Scott's dad's house in Tulsa I was a little nervous, I had never met his dad before. I was going to have to sleep in Scott's room alone and I'm a little bit scared of new places and the dark. But, I sucked it up and went. So, the first night I was getting in to bed and I looked up on a high shelf and saw a very familiar friend looking back at me...it was JUDY! Not, my Judy a slightly cleaner, not so loved Judy but all the same it was a Judy.

From that moment on I plotted my kidnapping of that dog, I thought all I would need was a backpack, turns out Scott's Judy was not as flexible as my Judy. But, I got her all the same. So, for your viewing pleasure here is the Judys!

My Judy is on the left (notice she is blind in one eye now) and Scott's Judy is on the right. My Judy looks so loved!

just because

I wanted to upload some pictures for you tonight. But, I can't make this computer and my camera be friends. Today I watched movies all day. My favorite kind of days, better when you do it with someone else but, Kuddles is always good company! I also painted my finger and toe nails red. I forget if I think red finger nails make you look old or slutty, either way for a game day I guess works. Hope it's not bad luck (I always hate doing new things during football season for fear that it will bring bad luck, rational I know). I got a bunch of phone calls today actually my phone rang too much. But, some of them were fun calls! So, those were okay. I had this conversation with Olivia:

O:What are you doing
A:nothing
O:No, what are you doing
A:nothing
O:NO! Ashlee! what are you doing while you do nothing!
A:just sitting here (I was trying to take a nap)
O:Oh, is Kuddles pouting

I won't bore you with the rest. But, I found that part humorous.

Anyway, that's all for today maybe you'll get pictures tomorrow. And I'm a few events behind so maybe you'll get lots of days of pictures!

my life.

I'm not sure one picture could sum me up any better than that!
I'm still looking for someone who would like to pay a professional stalker. I am your girl!
