Happy Cyber Monday!

I just had the best four days anyone could ask for!

I skipped the annual what I'm thankful post because I just wanted to spend my time off of work and school soaking up the things I'm thankful for!

And man did I ever do that.

I got to spend time with (most of) of the people I love! Including a shopping trip with my oldest cousin on Thanksgiving day, and a cupcake date with another cousin (one that just turned 16 and drove himself there) (crazy!) Lots of lounging with the boy of course. I missed my Mom, and my Brother, and I really really really missed my sister! I wish she would have been here to cook and shop with me!

The food this year was awesome! I'll post what I made tomorrow. Everything was a big hit! (I just love that!)

Other than Thanksgiving day with the family I had no plans, and that is my very favorite thing! I didn't have tests to study for or projects to complete I just did what I wanted to do! glorious!

I spent lots of time relaxing on the couch, mostly watching football and doing some online shopping!

I didn't step foot into a store and got a ton of great deals! I'm not against Black Friday shopping sometimes it's fun, but I just wasn't feeling it this year, so online was great for me!

We got things accomplished around the house lots of things marked off the to-do list!

And went to the last home SOONER game! It was cold and wet and just an overall nasty game, but we won and I guess that's what's most important.

You know what I didn't do...take one single picture...I'll try to do better the rest of the season!

I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning but it will be nice getting back into my normal routine!

and maybe do a little more shopping! (have you seen any good cyber Monday deals?)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Today I wore jeans to work and I didn't wash my hair....

I'm such a rebel.

Actually I just thought no one would be the wiser.

Some days (most actually) I don't see a soul my entire work day. I thought today would be one of those days, until my boss walked in around 2:00.

Oh well.

Truth be told I went home at lunch and put the jeans on because I just wasn't very comfortable.

Tomorrow I'll try a little harder...maybe.

THANKSGIVING BREAK I AM SO FREAKING THANKFUL FOR YOU!

What's the deal with the baby pjs for grownups??

Have you seen these?

They've been at Target for awhile...

and that's okay because it's Target right?

Then I noticed them in my Land's End Canvas catalog (without feet)...and I thought that was kind of weird.

But then yesterday I noticed them at J.CREW....
Really is this for real?

Is this the new trend for pajamas?

I will not be participating, can you even imagine? I mean look at that jcrew models ass, that is not flattering can you even imagine what they would look like on a normal person?

I'm pretty sure if I were a guy I'd have it written into my wedding vows no weird one piece pjs. ever. Maybe guys think they are hot though...I'll have to check with G when I get home...but I'm just not seeing it...

I'd admit I am far from the most fashionable or trendy person (there is a reason you'll never see outfit of the day posts around here) but I just don't get the function or the excitement of these. I sure wouldn't spend $80 on them!

Do you own one piece pjs?

Are they on your Christmas list this year?

Please tell me the appeal!

November Fail. And Swaps!

I didn't make it posting every day in November...dang it.

The 3-day took so much out of me both physically and mentally that I've been going to bed at ridiculously early hours.

Every night riiiight before I fall asleep I think about how I didn't blog but the goal doesn't seem worth dragging my sleepy self out of bed and turning on the computer. So, I've just accepted the fact that this isn't my month for every day posting. Maybe I'll try again next month?

I'm so excited to share pictures from the 3Day and to write about my experience but you'll have to wait at least another day. :)

In other news...I can't help but sign up for all the blog swaps during this time of the year! I seriously love  getting things in the mail and I may take my job of putting together the perfect swap present a little too seriously!

Here are some good ones I've signed up for!

Laura at Luckiest in Love had the ornament swap last year and it was so much fun I can't wait to participate again! Who doesn't love new Christmas ornaments?

Then there are three fun lady's hosting a Secret Santa Swap! I love a good surprise so I think this one should be exciting! Head on over to Everyday AEM to learn more about it!

Are there any more fun swaps I'm missing out on??

HOME!

I know these short posts should hardly even count for NaBloPoMo but...they are all I can manage right now since I didn't schedule anything for yesterday or today, I just wasn't sure what would be swirling through my head while I was on the walk.

I'm still not sure that I have processed the magnitude of it all.

But, I did it. I walked 60 miles in 3 days and it was hard. and amazing.

get ready because the posts and the pictures will be coming...

Day 2

Oh the blisters I'm in medical hoping to get them taken care of but the line is insane. At least I'm sitting down can't wait to write about this experience.

Here goes nothing....

Abbi and I have been planning this walk since February and it is finally here....

Today is the first day.

We will arrive at Collin Creek Mall between 6:00-7:00am, listen to the opening ceremony and then start walking...

The anticipation has been building and my ability to sleep has been weakening. I said to Garrett I feel like a little kid who gets to go to Disney World and their Mom keeps telling them to go back to sleep. I just want to be up!

"Ya but this is more like boot camp than Disney World" was his reply, he's probably right.

I hope it lays somewhere in between, boot camp and a good life changing adventure.

And as always I hope I don't get blisters!

What I've been buying!

I've found so many great things on the internet lately (like in the last 6 months, I'm a little behind) I feel like I should share!

Source: etsy.com via Ashlee on Pinterest

I got this print from Paper Parasol on etsy that I just love! The colors are perfect and it looks great as the center piece of my gallery wall (it's not finished yet or I'd show you pictures, soon though I promise!)

I got this elephant (for the gallery wall) and spray painted him! He was pretty easy to put together and I just love him!

Source: etsy.com via Ashlee on Pinterest

I got this cover for my Kindle as well as a small bag that I use for pens for school in the same print, from from Britgal Designs! It's seriously too cute and makes me smile the entire time I'm reading! (obviously I have a think for elephants)

I got this super cute braided scarf from putapuredukes on etsy she has a tutorial on her blog to make the single braided scarf it's really cute too. But, when she showed this one and put it in her shop so I could just buy it instead of making it myself I snatched it right up (sometimes I like to diy but sometimes I just rather pay someone else and save myself the headache...)! And I'm so glad I did because it's so cute!

Have you bought anything off the internet lately? I seriously love Pintrest it has been a terrible thing for my wallet but a great thing for the economy, just doing my part!! :)

ps. Abbi and I are heading down to Dallas today to get ready for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure if you could send us some good no blister, no rain vibes we'd truly appreciate it!

November Goals

Let's start with how we did on Octobers...

I can tell you before we start it was a BIG FAT FAIL. dangit!

1. Blog Every Weekday - FAIL - I blogged 6 times in October.
2. Walk 100 Miles. fail - but just a little fail I did really well with the training
3. Reach Team Donation Goal. Together we've made our goal but I have a little ways to go get to reach my half of the $4600
4. Spend @ least 1 hr a day on school work. Fail I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote this! I had two fundraisers this month preparing for this walk has been HARD work and I'm still behind but I'll be fine.
5. Keep Car Cleaned Out. DID IT!
6. Organize Office. FAIL- Not even close, it's worse than when I started!
7. Finish Gallery Wall. FAIL - better luck next time
8. Comment More! Maybe I did a little better, I'll give this one a neutral.
9. Try 2 new recipes FAIL - I did not cook once this month, not one time!
10.  Get a laundry schedule, and stick to it! FAIL- still have piles of laundry...

November:

1. Blog every day! I'm like a broken record on this...we all know I'm participating in NaBloPoMo...

2. Start Couch25k (again) I'm given myself some grace on the start time since I'm walking 60 miles the first weekend of November, ideally I'll start Tuesday 11/8 but if that turns out not to be realistic that's okay I'll just start as soon as physically possible.

3. Limit *extra* spending to $100 extra is those things I *need* at Target, getting my nails done, projects I start, etsy purchases, etc...

4. Finish Christmas Shopping and by finish, I of course mean start....

5. Keep Car Cleaned Out. oh the never ending battle....

6. Organize Office no excuses get it done. the gallery wall too!

7. Clean out my side of the garage it is about to get really effing cold, I'll be so happy I did!

8. Maintain As Started out strong...that makes things easier to finish that way!

9. Comment More! I read too many blogs I need to comment on them!

10. Plan to take 4 dishes to Thanksgiving! Since I stopped cooking I miss it, I'll make up for it at Turkey Day!

Happy November!

I have apparently turned into Scrooge.

I got home from class last night and turned on my porch light and waited (and waited) for the doorbell to ring.

At 8:00 it finally rang, and then it rang again, and while I was walking the 7 steps from the couch to the candy bowl next to the door it rang 11 more times.

I am not even kidding you the two children at my door rang the doorbell at least 12 times in the 30 seconds it took me to hand off the dog and answer the door.

The kids were probably 7 (a girl) and 10 (a boy) too old to ring the doorbell that many times. I have no idea what they were dressed up as because my head was vibrating from all the ringing.

I resisted the urge to give them a lesson in trick-or-treating manners, and also the urge to give them one piece of candy.

Instead I gave them a handful of candy, looked for their parents (I saw none), shut my door, and promptly turned off my porch light…

They ruined my Trick-or-treating sprit.

Of course I made the little dog dress up….

2011 - 10 007

2011 - 10 005

Isn’t she just the cutest little Hippo! Here is her costume from last year, she makes a really cute bug too…

Don’t forget it is NaBloPoMo time you can win prizes for posting every day in November! I made it last year, but my posting has been waaay more sporadic in 2011 so let’s see if I can make it though…
