Scarf swap!

The last time I participated in a swap I swore I'd never do another one, for all the good partners I've had the last one was just too bad. I just didn't think it was worth the effort when the risk of getting someone who put one thing from the Target dollar spot or junk from around their house into the box (true story!)
But Meredith's 5th annual scarf swap just looked like too much fun to pass up and I'm so glad I participated!

I got paired up with Chelsea and I just know we would be bffs! Here's a few reasons why:

1. She has a chihuahua Tucker
2. Her son Jack's nursery is filled with elephants (and elephants are my favorite!)
3. She has a son named Jack and I have a cousin named Jack (ok that one might be a stretch)
4. We both got our scarfs from Loft
5. She is a self described OCD stress-case and that pretty much sums me up, always making everything more stressful than it needs to be...

Anyway onto the goods!

Here is what came out of my cute red envelope! Perfectly wrapped swap goods! (reason #6 we both used Erin Condren gift labels!) It's a miracle I snapped a picture I was so excited to see what was inside!

Ah here it is the scarf! It's so funny because as I was looking around for what I was going to get Chelsea I kept coming back to this scarf, I really liked it! I just wasn't sure if it was it. Chelsea said she liked dark purple for fall this year I wasn't sure this was quite right (for her swap scarf), so I decided on another one (you can see it over on her blog) When I opened the package I was so excited because the reason I kept coming back to this scarf was because I loved it for me!

As if that great scarf wasn't enough she also included these Kate Spade note pads in my favorite colors! Pink, Navy, and  a Red and White one for the Sooners! I just love them!

Pink and Navy, polka-dots, Sooners, and Kate Spade all of my favorite things!

Thank you so much Chelsea I loved getting to meet you through the swap! Everything was perfectly me!

*please excuse the poor picture quality if I had waited to get better ones it would have been time for the 6th annual swap!

Five on Friday!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

It's my first time linking up with the five on Friday girls...maybe I'm getting back into the whole blogging thing!

1. I'm so excited to report that my salad in a jar and fruit in a jars worked all week long! This is going to make my life during the week so much easier! I can make lunch for every day of the week on Sunday night and we can have a healthy side salad ready to go with dinner every night! Anything that makes my life easier!

2. A friend of Garrett's gave us tickets for the OU game tomorrow! He gave us passes to the tailgate before hand too. Free tickets, free food, and football, my favorite! I'm so excited!

3. I started Weight Watchers (again) yesterday, going to the meetings gives me some accountability and I really need that when it comes to losing weight. The group seems perfect (small) so I'm ready to lose some pounds.

4. I spent my first full week in the new house and we have everything put away and mostly organized! I have so many projects I want to get done but it's going to have to wait until I am done studying (if you're new here I'm sitting for the CPA exam and that sucks up all of my free time). But it's nice to be in our own space! Also I love love love the washer and dryer we picked out, having a good washer and dryer makes doing laundry so much better (wonder how long that will last!)

5. Kuddles just because she's the cutest dog I know

Food-in-a-jar

I decided to give these salad-in-a-jar and fruit-in-a-jar from Pinterest a try this week.

If I can make a healthy lunch on Sunday and it stay good for lunch all week I'll be so happy! I made some extra salads and since they are so big I can use them for Garrett and I to eat with our dinner! If it works then next week I may make two different kinds so I don't get bored.

This week I did my own homemade dressing (Olive Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Honey), green bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes, chicken (but only in the first 3 (because I was worried how long the chicken would stay good for)) some turkey pepperonis (because I was making pizza at the same time), almonds, cranberries, smoked gouda (my very favorite salad ingredient) and then mixed greens! Delish!

For the fruit I did apples, blue berries, banana, and pineapples (which one blog said would keep everything from turning brown!)

So far they stayed great for two days! I'll be sure to report back how they do the rest of the week!

ps. we are all moved in to the new house, and while studying hasn't slowed down (it's SPED up) I feel a little less like I'm struggling to stay on top of everything so maybe I'll blog some more this fall!
