(mostly) Wordless Wednesday

Any ideas on what I felt the need to document with a grainy cell phone picture?

Stupid, Stupid Advertisers

Have you seen the commercial for these things?!?
I have.
They are pretty much the only thing I can think about...
Pretzel M&M's
Hello, that is genius!
Only problem is I can't find them ANYWHERE!!!!
Do you think it's because everyone else got to them before me?
Or the M&M company just forgot to send some to Oklahoma...
I'm on the hunt and I'm gonna find them....

Has anybody anywhere tried them are they as good as I imagine??

Snacking with Stewart the Squirrel

While in Colorado, dying to see an animal, we ran into this guy....

He wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but he was super friendly and seemed to want some food. Lucky for him he happened upon the right people. He waited patiently as I dug in my purse looking for something to give him. I found an all natural granola bar, that I deemed safe for his consumption and that guy snatched it out of Garrett's hands before I could even get a picture...

We offered him another piece hoping he was a food hoarder like Kuddles, but he wasn't and was only interested in the first piece...so much for my staged pictures...

I thought it was super nice of him to stay and let me take pictures of him instead of running off with his treasure.

A Mile High

Garrett's parents recently bought a house in Colorado just outside of Denver, and lucky for us they decided to take us up there with them for a visit. The house is on a mountain, we were about 7,500 miles up and this is a picture from just right down the street.

I was super excited about the cooler weather. I had dreams of being able to run whenever I wanted, any time of day. Around here I have to plan runs around the blistering heat. Unfortunately, what I didn't account for was the altitude, and what a problem it was to breath in it. Instead we did a lot of hiking which was so pretty. The neighborhood has over 20 miles of hiking trails. I was getting pretty desperate to see a bear and Garrett really wanted to see a mountain lion. So, I derived a plan and it involved some peanut butter. Sadly, we didn't follow through...something about not feeding wild life....boring.

One of the days we headed to Breckenridge it's about 45 minutes away, and this Florida girl was just in awe of all the mountains. I kept taking pictures and getting super excited. Garrett was sleeping and so I kept most of my excitement under wraps, as to not scare his parents. haha.

We rode the Gondola's up the mountain and then took the ski lifts up a slope where we hiked down. Garrett picked a black slope, which was pretty hard for my clumsy self. G and his dad led the way...do you think they're related?

It was so pretty but it was also cold and windy when you weren't moving. I was so thankful I wore a jacket. Everyone else was shivering, especially on the ski lift. That thing was freezing, and pretty high up. I was a little bit terrified.

My only request was that we got to touch some snow...and my wish was granted...but the snow was kinda gross..

Garrett really wanted to find a walking stick the whole time we were there. This was as close as he got. It was practically a tree. silly boy. I could have used a stick though, I fell down that mountain 3 times.....oh I'm so clumsy....

The drive home was BRUTAL it was the last day of a holiday weekend and everyone was headed in the same direction. We just sat and sat in traffic. And for some crazy reason there are no back roads in the mountains....

New look...

Instead of blogging about Colorado or our last day in Nebraska...I changed the blog up a bit...

Let me know what you think.....

And just because I'm nice a picture from Colorado...yes that's snow...yes it was July...yes I'm hot...but I think it's better than cold.

Fruits and Veggie Challenge

Last week Weight Watchers started a new challenge 4 Weeks to 5 Servings, the goal being to make sure that we get our 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day.

I really don't struggle with eating fruits and veggies as long as I make a conscious effort to do it. But, who isn't up for fun challenge?

I missed week one because I was in Colorado (eating lots of fruits and veggies) so this week I am combining weeks one and two.

Week one the goal was go fill half your plate with fruits and veggies, week two the goal is to eat 3 different color vegetables every day

Every day I plan to document what I've eaten here it's in the side bar also!

That way I won't clutter my blog with lots of food pictures and can hopefully get caught up on some other blogging, like the pictures from our trip!!

Soon I'll have pictures up! :)

The Road to Omaha - Day 2

Day 2 was the day we got to watch our beloved Sooners play!! What we didn't for see was a 9 hour rain delay...

Since we had to get to the stadium early we spent a total of 12 hours in or around Rosenblatt Stadium, which led to lots and lots of pictures and lots of fair food...

Rosenblatt Stadium has been the home of the College World Series for 60 years, this was it's last year so lots a people came out for just that reason

Because of the rain Garrett encouraged me to wear my tennis shoes. I had on a skirt but sucked it up and wore the tennis shoes...but he was so right it was soooo much better!

This is a picture I took of the sign when I thought we were going to be starting the game in 30 minutes...little did I know...

I really liked the little touches around the stadium

Even though Omaha is like the most random place for a major sporting event, they really embrace it and make it the perfect place!

And hello they brought in the fair food vendors....it was the craziest thing people walking around with funnel cakes...that's not baseball food.

Garrett and I went on a hunt for these...

Do you see in there? They are making curly fries out of a whole potato....it was crazy!!

And there were soooo many fries...I told some random guy he could share with us...I think he thought I was crazy...

Garrett got these homemade mini donunts...oh my...they were so yummy!

Did I mention that at this point it was about 3:30 had been raining since we got to the stadium at 11:00 and we still had no idea when the game would even start?!?

We were huddled under a food awning with a bunch of other brave souls

This was next to the stadium at the zoo....

Yay!! The people are finally taking the tarp off the field! Will there be some baseball?

Maybe?

Finally there is an announcement that the game will start!!

Where's Waldo? Hurry back I think we're actually going to get to watch some baseball!!

Finally the National Anthem!!

Only after 5.5 innings the rain started coming down hard, and the lightning was every where so...

They delayed the game again....

Finally at 10:20 the game was over and the SOONERS won! Making the 12 hours at Rosenblatt totally worth it!!

With all of the people there for 12+ hours the stand were filthy...
