Happy Leap Day!

I didn't want to miss the chance to post on leap day! Sadly the test I had last night sucked everything out of me and my ability to form any kind of coherent thoughts is lost so I thought it was the perfect day to link up with my first ever Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday! I'm itching to go on vacation so this is going to be all the places I'm dreaming of lately!

Garrett's headed on vacation without me soon *pouts* but I have school (and I'm not crazy about skiing).

Meanwhile I'm planning our next vacation together, to somewhere warm and sunny!

Or maybe a cruise around Alaska?

California wine country?

Or New York City?

Where's your next vacation? Or your last one?

Glass Blowing.

Confession : I don't watch Award shows

(except for college football awards but no one talks about best dressed from those)

I do enjoy your posts about who wore what.  :)

As expected I had a low key weekend filled with studying. Yesterday the weather was so amazing I was sad I wasn't outside enjoying it. Saturday I went on a nice long walk but in true Oklahoma form it was super windy, but it was a welcome break from learning about pensions!

I wish the weekend had been a little bit more relaxing, and I really really wish the cleaning/laundry fair had shown up (she never does!) Our house is going to get a good deep scrubbing over spring break.

Friday night we did squeeze in a quick dinner date at a neat little local Italian place where they blow glass and make bowls, platters, vases and such. There was a little bit of a wait but it was so much fun watching them with the glass it didn't even matter. Luckily the food was good so we will for sure be heading back!

That orange bulb because a really neat two toned deep red platter!

It's on my list to have something of my very own hand blown while I watch! Cannot wait!

It's the weekend!

Happy Friday Guys! Do you have anything fun and exciting planned? I have a test on Tuesday so there won't be much fun going on around our house this weekend. I'm thrilled to have a few days off work though so no complaining here. Have some extra fun for me!

Leftovers

When I cook I always end up with a lot of food.

I'm not that great at following recipes to start with but it never fails that I'll be making something that says it serves four and when I'm done I have like 15 servings. Either other people eat way bigger servings than us (doubtful), food multiplies in my refrigerator (possible), or I just add way more food than I think I am (likely).

It's not a big deal for two reasons 1. I don't have time to cook so we're lucky if it happens one day a week and 2. I have no problem eating leftovers (and for the most part neither does Garrett)

Sunday I made some spaghetti, I always make my sauce from scratch it taste better and I'm sure it comes out cheaper since it makes so much. We ate it for dinner Sunday night and I packed 5 containers of it for lunch this week. The rest of the sauce I put in a Tupperware to freeze I figured I'd eat it again in two weeks for lunch.

Garrett decided he would eat it one night for dinner this week when I was in class, so I left it in the fridge. I asked him if he would mind putting in the freezer when he was done so the leftovers don't go bad.

There are two more things you should know 1. Garrett brings us both dinner home from work almost every day (I'll blog about that another day) and 2. We just set some pretty large financial goals and are on a very strict budget.

That was a lot of back information to tell you I casually mentioned to Garrett that he's not as good at eating leftovers as I am. I am eating spaghetti six days in a row (which I don't mind), and he usually will eat the same thing two maybe three times in one week. (nothing wrong with that I was just pointing it out)

OH MY GOODNESS now he is on a mission to prove me wrong, so instead of bringing home dinner the last three nights he decided he'll eat spaghetti (bringing his grand total to 4 dinners in a row) which is all good and great. It's saving us money on the food he would have bought, I'm not cooking during the week, and we aren't going out.

The problem is this I've now had spaghetti for SIX meals since Sunday and I'm guaranteed to have it for at least three more.

In the end I will still have eaten the same leftovers WAY more than he has....but I'm not going to tell him that...

Do you eat leftovers? Do you know how to make things so you don't have 379 meals for two people?

I had a test yesterday. yes on Valentine's Day.

no big deal though it's not a huge holiday in our house.

Then I have a test today. Which was severely neglected because I was worried about yesterday's test.

Oh well someday it's going to be worth it. I hope.

Meanwhile at least I have a study buddy....

Rhythm is a dancer...

Me not so much...

Work and school are really keeping me busy this semester.

I can't find my rhythm.

I just can't seem to get it all together. I'm dropping one ball or another. Either the house is a mess but I'm caught up on studying. Or the house is clean and I haven't studied anything. Then I'm either exhausted but I spent some time with Garrett or I exercised and got to bed early but I hardly even talked to Garrett for a week. Then there's the poor dog. I feel like she's alone more than she's with people lately.

Last night I didn't do any studying or cleaning, I crawled in bed and watched an entire movie with Garrett. Great! except there are so many things that needed to be done, and I woke up this morning tired. Next week I have two tests and I'm going to wish I could get those hours back to study...

I had my first test last week and I feel like I struggled through studying for it. I hate that.

There is a blog I read that counts down how many weeks are left in the semester and it stresses me out every time I see it. How on earth am I going to get everything done in 12 weeks?

I'm sure part of the problem is that Garrett's being working 70-80 hours a week and he's such a big help that I miss everything he does for me.

And starting the year off with two vacations didn't have me in the best groove, but I'm ready to just be caught up and not feel like I'm sprinting to catch up constantly.

At least I've stayed up with my February photo a day challenge! I'll post those pictures soon. Until then a post isn't a post without a picture...
This is how she prefers to go on walks...

Must Love Dogs....

This is my friend Scott, he's 29 and lives in Houston.

He was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma but has a special place in his heart for Florida and hopes to end up back there someday!

Scott graduated from The University of Oklahoma (Boomer!) with a degree in Construction Management and works for a big National General Contractor.

He likes all sports and is always up for going to a game, he likes cooking, camping, the beach, boating and taking his Beagle Brin to the dog park. He's always up for trying new restaurants, going on fun adventures, and he will even let you take him shopping!

But without a doubt Scott's favorite thing to do is to fish he loves to take his boat out (before the crack of dawn) and spending the day looking for fish. He also builds fishing rods in his spare time (which I'm pretty sure is just boy crafting).

He loves his family and even though they aren't very close he makes sure to get up and see them (or have them come visit) several times a year. His two nieces adore their Uncle Scott.

His ideal girl is a country girl who enjoys spending time outdoors during the day but at night can just as easily dress for a night out on the town or stay home for a nice quiet dinner.

You can comment or email me if you are interested in meeting Scott!

My view today....

I am linking up with Fat Mum Slim  for the February Picture a day, and I'm excited about it because without a prompt taking a picture a day could get pretty boring.

Work, school, sleep, rinse and repeat.

Here is my view every weekday from 9-5. Taking this picture made me really want to put some stuff on the walls (and maybe change my desktop) the problem is I'm not sure what I can hang up that is professional and I'll love.

Here is the list if you want to join in!
