Five on Friday!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

It's my first time linking up with the five on Friday girls...maybe I'm getting back into the whole blogging thing!

1. I'm so excited to report that my salad in a jar and fruit in a jars worked all week long! This is going to make my life during the week so much easier! I can make lunch for every day of the week on Sunday night and we can have a healthy side salad ready to go with dinner every night! Anything that makes my life easier!

2. A friend of Garrett's gave us tickets for the OU game tomorrow! He gave us passes to the tailgate before hand too. Free tickets, free food, and football, my favorite! I'm so excited!

3. I started Weight Watchers (again) yesterday, going to the meetings gives me some accountability and I really need that when it comes to losing weight. The group seems perfect (small) so I'm ready to lose some pounds.

4. I spent my first full week in the new house and we have everything put away and mostly organized! I have so many projects I want to get done but it's going to have to wait until I am done studying (if you're new here I'm sitting for the CPA exam and that sucks up all of my free time). But it's nice to be in our own space! Also I love love love the washer and dryer we picked out, having a good washer and dryer makes doing laundry so much better (wonder how long that will last!)

5. Kuddles just because she's the cutest dog I know

Food-in-a-jar

I decided to give these salad-in-a-jar and fruit-in-a-jar from Pinterest a try this week.

If I can make a healthy lunch on Sunday and it stay good for lunch all week I'll be so happy! I made some extra salads and since they are so big I can use them for Garrett and I to eat with our dinner! If it works then next week I may make two different kinds so I don't get bored.

This week I did my own homemade dressing (Olive Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Honey), green bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes, chicken (but only in the first 3 (because I was worried how long the chicken would stay good for)) some turkey pepperonis (because I was making pizza at the same time), almonds, cranberries, smoked gouda (my very favorite salad ingredient) and then mixed greens! Delish!

For the fruit I did apples, blue berries, banana, and pineapples (which one blog said would keep everything from turning brown!)

So far they stayed great for two days! I'll be sure to report back how they do the rest of the week!

ps. we are all moved in to the new house, and while studying hasn't slowed down (it's SPED up) I feel a little less like I'm struggling to stay on top of everything so maybe I'll blog some more this fall!

Sister Trip!

My sister and I are planning a road trip from Oklahoma to Florida and I'm so excited! It was kind of last minute trip so I am busy planning all the fun stops and photo ops between here and my sisters house.

We plan on taking our time and just enjoying the journey! I'm super excited because we are planning a little detour to check out the store Unclaimed Baggage where they sell your stuff that the airlines lost. I saw a show about the store when I was younger and I've always wanted to go! I'm super excited to check it out for myself!

I love packing snacks for the road and also finding fun places to eat along the way. No chains for us! We want to eat at fun local places! I love to listen to books on cd as we drive too it's a good way to zone out! And of course we will need a summer road trip play list, sadly for me (and my sister) I can't take a break from studying so I'll be doing a lot of that on the trip and Natalie will spend her non-driving time quizzing me on my index cards. Either way I think we're going to have a ton of fun!

Now I'm off to make a list of outfits to pack, road trip clothes must be cute and comfy!

Hello...

I signed up for a scarf swap on another blog (don't tell Garrett he hates swaps), and I figured if I was going to leave my blog address I might want to update the thing.

So I changed the url (ouashlee.blogspot.com) to match every other form of social media I have and here I am.

My life has been so boring I spend every second studying for the CPA exam or working or sleeping.

This is how we spend most of our days me on the computer Kuddles staring, wishing I was paying more attention. Me teaching her about accounting. Fun times.

We went to Colorado for a week and it was much needed and very relaxing. I read three books that had nothing to do with accounting or exams. Not my best use of time but it was nice.

Oh Garrett bought a house in Norman so we are moving down there at the end of the month! My work commute will be longer but I sure do love that little town and I'm excited to be there just in time for football season! (Even if I probably won't be watching any football this season...)

That pretty much sums up my summer, maybe I'll make it back again someday soon...

Hello.

I don't have much to say - or maybe I have too much to say?

Either way I stare at the blank blogger screen like this most days.

Attractive I know...

So here are some bullet points - my favorite:

- I swear my dress in that pictures isn't low cut I don't know why it looks so scandalous

- I went to the J Crew Factory yesterday and got 3 dresses and 2 skirts for $160 Super good deal!

- I hope Garrett doesn't read that ^ he doesn't need to know I spent any money :)

- I just bought all new skin care, because it seemed cheaper than Botox. Maybe I can hold off the needles for a little while longer...

- I'm starting a juice cleanse next week and I am ridiculously excited about it.

- I don't like Feedly or Bloglovin. I am going to miss Google Reader so so much!

- I got stuck in a dress at Old Navy I couldn't unzip the zipper by myself (I couldn't zip it up either so I took it off, zipped it, and slipped it over my head, I'm brilliant I tell you...) It was awful I started sweating at the thought of having to ask someone to unzip me. I finally got it off by myself, but it was traumatic. I did not buy the dress.

- Most of my sentences lately seem to be run on sentences with multiple commas.

- sometimes I notice people leave words out or misuse of words like to instead of too or no instead of know on blogs of people who I know get their posts printed in blog books. I think it's rude to correct people (especially in the comments!) but I sometimes want to email them and let them know because I hate for there to be errors in their book.

- I'm pretty sure I know someone who has a child that's way smarter than you average child and I'm not sure how to broach that subject, but then I think anyone would be happy to hear "Hey I think your kid might be a genius - like for real" -  I don't know a lot but I know a little and I'd like to offer some suggestions but not step on toes...

- I think I'll go to Target after work.

- If work ever ends...

- I think my body decided to give up sleep for Lent. I am so tired all the time but I just can't sleep.

- Garrett has Friday off for Good Friday and I'm insanely jealous.

All right that's it for now. I'll be back sooner than later.

Maybe.

I mean I guess I might as well....

Quick catch up

Well I haven't been around here lately, you haven't missed too much.

Sadly you missed a recap of my favorite little one year old's first birthday. I was kind of holding back because I was hoping her Mommy would start a blog, I'm not giving up on her yet.

It was the perfect weekend spent celebrating this pretty girl. I'll share more of the details sometime this week.

This weekend my brother came to visit too, we got to hang out for a few hours. He will be just a few hours away from me for the next year. So I plan to hang out with him a lot more!

Other than that my life consists of studying, spring cleaning and working. Planning to work in some fun now that Garrett's busy season is over!
