BOOMER SOONER!!!

I know I promised my explanation and I will do it some time this week. (I actually started it) I'm so happy we are going to the Big XII Championship game! I'm so proud of OUr boys and I really feel like they deserve the game. Having said that I am sorry that we will not being having a rematch with texas. I believe it would go very differently if it were replayed.

BOOMER SOONER! Get on that practice field and get ready for the tigers!!

Does this kid deserve the Heisman or what? I wish I had the video of this he does a complete flip five feet off the ground, jumped up and didn't even look shaken. AMAZING!

Sooner Magic.

Tonight was wonderful!

Sooner Magic mixed with unbelievable talent and pure skill! Four games in a row scoring over 60 points two ranked teams in two weeks. Arguably the hardest road win in the country. 640 points and the season isn't even over. We may be the first team in postwar history to score 700 points in one season? And only two other teams have done so in the history of football. A coach who doesn't whine? It feels so good to be an Oklahoma Sooner!

I am joining the Bob Stoops move to not politic for a spot in the Big XII title game. But, let it be known that I do believe we should be there. And after the polls are released tomorrow I will let my reasons be known.

and to the haters at ESPN and College Game Day jump on the saxet band wagon all you want, it makes the victories that much sweeter!

domination.

Saturday started at 2:45am with my alarm going off, I was startled mostly because I didn't think I had ever fallen asleep. At 12:30 I was looking at the clock begging myself to please fall asleep. Then telling myself if you just think about nothing you will fall asleep, then answering myself that I can't think of nothing when I am thinking about not sleeping. Eventually it must have worked because the alarm woke me. I took a shower loaded my car (with warm clothes, blankets, and such) and headed for Norman.

I met my friend at 4:20am we headed to McDonald's and Wal-Mart to get some last minute supplies (ice, sour cream, super glue, and such). Then it was off to my favorite place in the world (which can be seen in this post). Once arriving on campus a little before 5:00am we scoped out the competition (or the line, had it been a normal hour I'd have taken pictures of the crazies) and headed off to find a place to park. It was about 30 degrees outside with a much colder feels like temperature and it took us about 3o minutes to psych ourselves up enough to put on our layers and exit the car.

Once we finally did we made our way to the track where none other than the College Game Day crew was set up. I'm gonna guess there were about 100ish people ahead of us in line. I was checking out the other signs to see how mine measured up. I started it about 9:30 Friday night and was thinking it was pretty rough but compared to the other signs it wasn't half bad. (glitter makes everything look better). At one point another friend joined us in the line waiting and I of course made friends with the people behind us.

Here I am waiting in line all bundled up wearing a ton of crimson (which when I asked if it was too much I was told, "there is no such thing as too much crimson" duh that's the truth)
My eyes look so blue!

Before we were allowed inside of the game day set up we had to go through security, they had to read our signs to make sure they were tv appropriate and some people were patted down (me not being one of them) I was asked to go to a special second line because the first lady wasn't sure if my sign was mean or not (sign to be seen later in the post) My friend got questioned about an empty camera case (camera was around my neck) apparently camera cases are suspicious when they are empty. After the security check point it was time for free stuff and trying to get on tv...
Here is the side I never showed the tv

And here is the side that made it on tv! Not only did it make it on tv but Lee pointed at it and smiled. Of course it was because he knows its true!

Here is Kirk Herbstreet in the flesh. (so exciting!)

The back of Kirk, Lee, and Chris (no zoom, so close) of course I never took pictures when they were looking at us...I was sleepy!
Here I got one of Chris talking to the group of us. (you can see the last pic I took of him here) Obviously my centering abilities need help!

After several hours we decided to head out and try and warm up. We went to Wal-Mart to pick up a charcoal grill and a few other things. When we got there my friend said I'm going to close my eyes for a minute (so I did too), next thing we knew it was an hour later. He proceeded to tell everyone we talked to all day about our nap in the WM parking lot and I was embarrassed, but I guess since I've posted it on the Internet he can tell whoever he wants.

After that went to a different friends house and grilled (friend makes the best burgers ever, so yummy) and hung out for several hours, the highlight of this part of the day was watching the boys play stickball with a tennis ball. Silly boys. Also, I got to sit some at this point.

When it was time to leave we walked around campus visiting people at tailgates around campus (lots and lots of walking) Met some new people, fun times.

Finally it was time to enter the stadium (please note at this point we had been on campus for close to 13 hours!) We got into the stadium got our free beanies! yay! We watched the team warm up and got excited!! We sat down as much as we could for the hour and half because we knew it would be the last time for hours...we were so pumped! I was saving the seat next to me for someone 1. not drunk 2. not a tech fan 3. and knew something about football. Of course I got stuck to a drunk guy annoying! Of course he had to pee (because he was drunk) and asked me to save his seat, a normal looking sober guy so I offered him the seat next to me (I told him about drunk guy (I had also told drunk guy my friend might come back) to make a long story short when drunk guy returned...he knew normal guy. Are you kidding me...dang it! Anyway, Normal Guy told Drunk Guy we were cousins and we all just squeezed in.

The game pretty much speaks for itself with our 65-21 domination over texas tech. It was absolutely without a doubt the best game I have been to. It was amazing. I have never seen the fans be so into a game. It was Awesome!
Nic Harris!
Had an amazing game! Way too stay on top of your tackling! You looked awesome!
The boys getting excited before the game! Everybody JUMP!
This is me watching the game. I think I looked way better at 5:00am! Maybe if I had done my new smile technique. Dang it!
Here is the offense! (Best picture ever)

This easily ranks at the top of my best Saturdays ever! I hope that our boys keep playing like they did Saturday, because they looked practically flawless! Keep up the good work boys!

don't jinx me, please.

I had a really great post typed up with tons of pictures, and I just kept looking at it. Scrolling up and down it thinking about how if I posted it, I might jinx things. Then I'd think about how silly that really is....but either way I just couldn't for the life of me hit the orange Publish Post button. So, I've deleted it, and typed this over it. And it makes me feel better. My plans for the day include getting my eyebrows waxed...ouch. How often are you supposed to do that anyway? I'm not really sure. Guess I could ask....I also think I'm going to get a manicure my nails are looking pretty bad, at this point I don't think I can be much help to them. And I think I'll resume my walking schedule today even though it is FREEZING outside. Maybe it'll get me ready for tomorrows adventures in the cold...I can for sure tell you I will not be updating tomorrow as it looks like I'll be heading to Norman early and staying late...for now I will leave you with this great picture

photobucket.

Thanks to photobucket for allowing me access to my pictures again. I signed on to photobucket last week to check things out because I need to start using it again since I've lost the ability to post pictures how I was doing it. (annoying) Anyway, I went to get on yesterday to get a picture for wordless Wednesday and I couldn't get into my account *gasp* all those precious pictures. So, anyway I couldn't reset my password because I no longer have access to the email address that I originally used when I signed up for the account. Luckily, the smart people at the bucket had a solution, I had to answer like 8 questions about my account (most of which I had little idea of the answers) I used my humor to charm the nice folks and it worked because they have given me access to my pictures and it only took one day! wooo hooo! So, here is a picture for you to enjoy!
I had something so excited planned for you today but I left it at home so I guess it will just have to wait for another day. Sadness.

donation.

One of my guilty pleasures is reading blogs of strangers. This isn't really a new thing for me, when I was a very young child I used to watch a show they had on at the crack of dawn on Saturday mornings put on by the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, hoping for updates on one I'd seen previously. I've always taken it as my personal responsibility to study those missing children post cards that come in the mail, in fact I don't throw them away at least not right away. I'd make my mom look at them because she was a teacher and she might see one of those kids. In college I would spend hour perusing websites dedicated to children and teenagers that had been taken. Just hoping someday I'd see them and be able to help. I would sit in front of the computer sobbing over people I'd never met. Technology has just made an easier way for me to do it. And broadened my horizons on the people I feel the need to help. Part of me enjoys being able to start at the beginning (sometimes years ago) and reading to the present like a movie or a book of real people. The thing that's good about a new blog is that often times the most trying part of the story has been resolved and I don't have to check like a mad woman for updates, I can keep myself from being taken over by the situation. Most of the ones I start I continue to check in on, some I still check like a mad woman, everyday. I almost never comment and almost always cry. It's been awhile since I've read any that I have become super emotionally attached to. Sometimes worrying about strangers can be a bit draining. But, today I was on one of my happier blogs reading some updates when I saw an enticing banner blinking at me, begging me to help a sweet baby. I couldn't resist the click. This particular infant was born with a defective heart and was awaiting a transplant. So, as I read these entries (only 4 months worth) I really found myself over come with grief...but not for this tiny baby who needed a heart. But, for the parents who had to lose a child in order for this one to live. Every entry talks about hoping and praying for a donor heart to come quickly. Do they realize that they are asking people to pray for another infant to die? I realize that either way some precious babies life is going to end and one is better than two. But, I honestly don't think I'll be reading that one any more. I think I'll have to stick to blogs of people that are hoping for miracles and advances in medical technology. I've often struggled with organ donation. I just don't know how I feel about it. I mean I guess if you aren't going to be using your organs you can give them away, and if I needed one I guess I'd get on the list to save my own life. But, something just seems so wrong about it to me. Hoping for someone to die so someone else can live. I hope I never have to be in that situation.

weekend

I had a good busy weekend.

Friday I went to the OU men's basketball game, they looked good and won very conviningly.

Saturday was freezing! I started the morning bundled up at Blaine's playoff football game. They won! Yay! I was busy trying to recruit the kids and letting them know if they keep up the hard work they'll be getting college scholarships before they know it. Tonight is the final game, I'll let you know how it goes. After the football game I headed to the OU women's basketball game they also looked good and won, it was fun to see two number 1 draft picks in two days!! After that I headed off to hang out with a friend and watch the second season of Dexter, we finished that up and I'm so excited for the third season to come out on DVD (we both agree tv is way better on dvd).

Sunday, wasn't too busy slept in, watched a bit of football, ate Mexican for lunch, had a margarita, yummy! And went and saw Changling, I am not a fan of Angelina Jolie in fact I don't like her one bit (but it was the only movie at the theater we hadn't see that wasn't rated G) The movie was pretty good. A little sad, but kinda cool it was based on truth.

forgetful, bond.

Yesterday on the way home from work I was thinking about a funny blog I was going to post today to make up for last Friday's kinda-deep-right-before-the-weekend blog. I can't for the life of me remember what it was going to be about. Dang it. I hate that. Maybe I'll remember at a later date and you'll get it.

So, I'll just let you know I saw Quantum of Solace last night. It was so not as good as Casino Royale. boo! But, it was fun to watch it at 12:01!!! I think I'm still a fan of James Bond though. He's pretty cool....

movies.

Here is a review of the movies I've seen this week. In no real order....

House.
The best part of this movie was the review we read before going to see it "House is AWESOME!!!!!" It is now our understanding that the girl who wrote this review was talking about the tv show House MD. I mean if you've seen everything else in the theater and you enjoy scary movies you might as well check it out. But, don't expect to understand what is going on. It was confusing and not easy to follow at all. I did jump in fear a few times and there were some good quotable lines.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
This is was your typical comedy of this stature. There were some really funny parts, some really stupid parts and a couple of really gross parts. It follows the exact plot line you would expect it to. I'm a fan of Elizabeth Banks, I think she's really cute and would probably watch just about anything with her in it. It's not as raunchy as you might expect but please don't take your small children to see it...

Role Models.
Role Modles was funny the same kind of funny as Zack and Miri, it follows your typical "teenage comedy" plot. So, if you're looking for a good laugh from a predictable movie with some dirty jokes thrown in this is your movie. I do have one complaint about this movie. If you watched the previews then you pretty much saw the whole movie. Elizabeth Banks is in this one too!
My personal opinion on current comedies in the theaters, if you're only going to see one I'd go see Sex Drive. But I did watch Zack and Miri and Role Models in the same day so maybe it was a little too much. Hopefully, there will be some new scary movies coming out soon.

Before this weekend I have prided myself on having never seen a James Bond movie or a Star Wars movie (used to have Batman on that list). Casino Royale was good enough that I checked into seeing Quantum of Solace tonight at the Midnight showing. For me the whole movie was worth the opening scene that was so unbelievably ridiculous I couldn't stop watching. Apparently, Bond movies are known for these and I'll be seeing the next one mostly for the opening. Also, it was a good mix of predictable and unexpected. I was sometimes a little bit bored and being able to predict what will happen next is a favorite of mine.

Born on the Fourth of July.
My review for this one is going to be short seeing is I kept falling asleep and having to pretend I knew what was going on. I'm fairly certain this is a propaganda movie but my friend really wanted me to watch it. We eventually turned it off so I could sleep and I have no idea how it ends (I have to watch to find out....blah) So, I guess I'll be renting this one again.

(Please note at this point I think there are only two movies left playing in theaters I haven't seen, that's what Friday's are good for...new movies!!)

toe nails.

Still no luck with the pictures. I have no idea what is wrong with me. I swear I haven't been doing anything to kill brain cells...

My toe nails are falling off. So, far I've lost two. When the first one fell of I of course was grossed out and wondering what the heck was happening to me. Then I remembered that this happens every year, once a year. It happens the same every time. I get freaked out thinking I'm dying and then I remember it happened the year before, they'll grow back and all will be fine. Has anyone ever heard of anything so crazy? Who looses their toe nails annually? Or even ever for that matter. The thing that most annoys me about it is I have to stop wearing flip flops because my toes look kind of icky.

I guess I'll just be thankful my nails grow so fast.

UGH!!

I don't have my pictures from this past weekend uploaded, I didn't bring my camera cord. boo.
So, I was going to share some old one I hadn't posted before and guess what whenever I try they are super super small!!! ANNOYING!!!

This weekend I was telling my friend about 1-800-22-SHAMU, we used to watch these videos in elementary school that were put out by Sea World and at the end there was a question time were kids called in and then were played on the air. I never got to watch the show live but one day I went home to see if the number worked, and it did. I needed a question, but didn't want to sound stupid. So, I asked the nice operator where the oldest living manatee in captivity was located (of course I knew the answer) I was put on hold why the found out that it was indeed Snooty located in Bradenton, Florida. So, since we were in the car and had little to do we decided it would be fun to try and call 1-800-22-Shamu and see what would happen. Turns out they give you another number to call, that is not Sea World but an "Adult" line, that does not answer questions about sea life....

This weekend some guy in another car tried to hit on me? I could clearly read his "how you doin'" on his lips. I wasn't quite sure what to do. But, was flattered all the same.

I was scolded by a trucker for trying to pass him on the right, shaking finger and everything...I was annoyed he was not moving at a faster rate of speed.

Maybe tomorrow I'll remember how to post pictures....

Benjamin Franklin.

I'll be away for a few days. Looking for Jason Castro, hoping to get some pics for his fans!!

Benjamin Franklin is my all time favorite person from history, I thought I'd leave you with this quote...I find it alarmingly accurate and appropriate.

"All human situations have their inconveniences. We feel those of the present but neither see nor feel those of the future; and hence we often make troublesome changes without amendment, and frequently for the worse." -Benjamin Franklin

post.

I really don't have too much to say. But, I hate to leave my blog untouched for too long.

Last night I saw The Haunting of Molly Hartley. It ends pretty dumb. It could have been way better. But, oh well. I was scared once maybe even twice.

I walked around down town OKC and there were gun shots? Turns out they do that to scare the birds away? WHAT?!? I was not a fan.

I'm looking forward to this weekend! College football is my one true love!! So, here's hoping for a good week!!
