psychicness and congratsness!!

Sunday morning I had a weird dream....

It went something like this...I was in Bradenton and I was at an IHOPish like place on the island. I went there with my Aunt Kay (her family), Rita, and some other random hs person. We were sitting down and a bunch of other random Bradentonites started showing up. Rita and other random person decided to go sit at a different table with new people. I had to stay with my family. So, suddenly these people walk in and lock the door behind them and tell us that the are robbing IHOP and to take the batteries out of our cell phones and hold them over our heads, then as they walked around they would take each person's battery and all the money they had with them.

Eventually, we got out and there were a ton of reporters in the parking lot. As well as Scott....

Scott got down on one knee, proposed, and presented me with a ring....I said yes...

but the ring it was HORRIBLE...

Imagine...

This but with the band covered in diamond (flakes). UGH. I couldn't stop thinking about how absolutely ugly it was. I wanted to tell him but I remember when a wise person once told me that your engagement ring is like your baby....you have to love it no matter how ugly it is...

dream ends with me tell Scott that I really didn't want to marry him, and sorry but the excitement got to me.

So...when RITA called me Sunday morning and told me that she and Michael were engaged I was super excited for them...until I hung up the phone and remembered my dream...obviously I'm psycho psychic and was dreaming about what was happening to my friend in Bradenton! but that made me a little worried....what if her ring was THAT ugly...and I had to lie and tell her it was pretty.....

Much to my great relief I saw the ring and yay Michael! It's not ugly at all!
It is beautiful!*
Congrats! I'm so happy for you guys!*
(even if I never met Michael, he must be pretty great!)

*I stole borrowed these pictures from AV on facebook. thank you!!

I want this....

Yes, it's an OU Snuggie!

Yes, it makes me think back to the BIG XII championship game and the fact that I was FREEZING because it was hardly in the teens.

Yes, it makes me remember how I abandoned looking cute on cold game days for warmth.

Yes, I think this new snuggie will solve problems of being cold and cute or warm and not so cute.

Yes, I picture myself wearing it at the Nebraska game.

Yes, I did think about how much easier it would be to carry this into a stadium instead of my normal wool blanket!

AND

Yes, I did think about how I will be able to still clap my hands because my arms are free!

yes, I know I'm a little bit dorky.

And in case you are really wondering, when I first saw the Snuggie infomerical last year my first thought was "Wow I could wear that crimson one to football games!" It's like they read my mind!

kudos!

Many kudos to Blogger for allowing me to schedule posts! I've been taking advantage of it like you wouldn't believe! I can't wait to try text blogging! (there is email blogging too, but I'm honestly not sure when I would ever use that)! And who knows if I keep it up, and I die you might get to hear my words for a lifetime to come! ha! :)

I'm walking around campus. This is my most favorite place in the whole world. (if we could just talk about moving it to bradenton). Took kuddles off the leash and i think she loves it here too. I got an okay picture of the stadium clock. I'll for sure come a little more prepared for night pictures. Oh and i'm wearing a shirt that says i'd hit that...i think it makes me fit in. Ha

i heart hearts.

Update: Unc's surgery well, he had a triple bypass and was diagnosed with an artery disease. He was told that this surgery will only last about 10 years at which point he will have to have another one (or something like it, depending what the technology is like at that point). Unc is expected to be very very sore for quite some time, due to the breaking of the sternum. Stellan was also doing well after his surgery and luckily they did not have to go through his tiny chest, which should make his recovery easier. Hopefully, he will get to join his MSS* back at home very soon.

*many small siblings

Tomorrow my uncle is having open heart surgery at 9:00am. It was very sudden and unexpected, we are very thankful that the issue was found before he had a heart attack. He is at a very good heart hospital and is in good spirits. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Also, Stellan will be having surgery on his very tiny heart tomorrow at 7:30am my time. His mommy is one of my very favorite bloggers, even if her favorite color is orange (i hate orange).

Please keep both my uncle and Stellan, their families, and their doctors in your prayers.

Hopefully tomorrow afternoon they will both have healthier happier hearts.

14 years...

14 years ago today my life changed.
I remember every single detail of April 19, 1995.
I remember every day that followed.
I will never forget the need to be in Oklahoma.
I will never forget the sadness.
I will never forget the plane ride.
I will never forget the day I lost my innocence.
I think it was harder (for me) being so far away.
I will remember standing by the fence and watching and crying.
I will remember each and everyone of those people that were doing the same thing.
I am thankful that everyone in my family has a story to tell.
I will always remember.

disaster

For Easter I wanted to make chocolate cupcakes without a box! On a new favorite foodie blog I found this recipe...

I beat the butter, and the sugar.
I added the eggs one at a time, beating after each one.
I mixed all of my dry ingredients, then added it to the mixer.
It tasted SO horrible, I called Grammy in to try it.
It tasted like baking soda.
I was NOT wasting my chocolate chip cookies on the middle of these. I was going to throw them away, as fast as I could
But, grammy suggested I put these chocolate Easter eggs in them and see how they tasted cooked....

I started to smell something burning...
and I opened the oven.....

and saw that my cupcakes EXPLODED

um...ya...I guess 3/4 cup of baking soda was wrong....

Fear not I made the most tasty and cute vanilla cupcakes for Easter and they were a BIG hit...sadly they did not get their picture taken....

too much?

I never saw memorials on people's cars until I came to Oklahoma (I have now seen it in other places including Bradenton) I wasn't sure what I thought about it. I'm still not..

but is this too much?

Easter

Easter was cloudy and rainy and icky. I was really sad because I love getting outside shots of the kiddos. Especially when they are finding eggs! So, this year I played, cuddled, chatted, hugged, teased, and ate with my family. And I didn't even wear my camera around! These are the only Easter pictures we took....
C loved the trail mix more than the candy...
which is crazy because he is a candy MONSTER!
O and me at Uncle Ken's

it never ceases to amaze me how much we are alike!

I always tell everyone to take pictures of me from up above and O was trying so hard to get taller so she'd be looking down on me...it didn't work! Ha! but she's for sure an aspiring photographer!

for scott...

It's red*!!
*I'm fairly certain this is his "I told you so look" because I handed him the shotgun shell and told him to hold it so we could take a picture and show Scott that they ARE supposed to be red. And this is the look I got. Plus that's an awful lot like my I told you so look! ha!

the most wonderful cupcakes!

Always start by washing your hands!
These are the only ingredients you need:
Chocolate cake mix
Premade cookie dough
(do not buy the wal*mart brand like I did because they only have 20 cookies and you need 24)Chocolate icing
Cupcake liners
and whatever your cake mix calls for
(mine called for oil and 3 eggs)
getting everything ready

mix up the cake batter just how the directions tell you

put your liners in the muffin pan

fill the liners about half full

then take the chocolate chip cookie dough and push them down in the muffin pan

um I was ready to eat one!

bake for 18-20 minutes at 350*

this one exploded a little bit...and it was everything I could do not to eat this warm piece of heaven

When they have cooled frost them....

at this point I was dying to know if they were as yummy as the looked on the blog that I saw them on
The anticipation was killing me!

so moist!

the first bite!
(when I saw these on Kelly's blog I just had to know what the looked like on the inside)

They really were probably the best cupcake I've ever had, and I prefer white cupcakes over chocolate but I cannot wait to make them again!

The list!

Welcome to my 101 in 1001! I first saw this idea on a blog I was lurking around on, I was intrigued so I googled it to find out some more and ended up here at Day Zero. As well as on many more blogs of people who are currently doing 101 in 1001. I slowly started my list and figured out a good start and end date and started getting a little bit excited. I L-O-V-E love lists! I love making lists and I love crossing things off of lists. I just really love lists! (I am, however, a horrible procrastinator, and have a ton of unfinished lists!) The idea is really simple, make a list of 101 tasks you would like to complete. The tasks must be specific, easily defined, and measurable. The tasks must be realistic and stretching, something you can do, but something you have to work at. 1001 days is longer than a normal "new year's resolution goal" 2.75 years. You need to be decisive, stay focused, welcome failure (ew), write tasks down, and keep them in sight!
